Saint Mary’s College Announces Plans for Spring Commencement
Saint Mary’s President Katie Conboy has announced noted environmentalist, cartographer, and social entrepreneur Molly Burhans will deliver the Commencement address for the Class of 2023. The 176th Commencement will take place at noon on Saturday, May 20 on Le Mans Green.

Author Craig Ford Challenges Audience to Explore Religious Identity
Saint Mary’s College recently hosted a symposium featuring Dr. Craig Ford, a distinguished author, and professor, as well as an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame. The symposium was an enriching experience for our students and community as he touched on the importance of staying religious through the oppression and injustices prominent in today’s world.

Theatre Reaches Young Audiences
Mysteries, fables, and fairy tales, all told by the flickering light of a campfire. This is the setting for the Program in Theatre’s spring production. Directed by theatre faculty member Michaela Duffy, By Campfire and Candlelight is performed by a storytelling ensemble comprised of students with differing majors, backgrounds, class years, and interests.

Meet Me at The Avenue Event Welcomes Class of 2027
On March 26, 273 high school seniors and their families gathered on campus for the annual Meet Me at The Avenue event hosted by the College. With more than 800 visitors, this makes this year’s “Meet Me” one of the largest attended in recent years.

Summer Programs Empower Young Women
As a legacy, Saint Mary's College was already on my mind while deciding which college to attend. Both of my sisters were already students, but they never visited campus before attending. My mother thought the Embody Theology Summer Institute would be the perfect opportunity for me to get to know Saint Mary’s, and help me with my college decision. She was right. Not only was I able to get a sneak peak of campus life, it made my transition to college much smoother.

The Shortest Month Brings Moments of Awe
In her February letter to the community, President Conboy explores two experiences she's witnessed in recent weeks at Saint Mary’s. The first is the awe that stems from the actions of other people, the “moral beauty.” The other is “collective effervescence” in which humans come together around a shared purpose and feel a sense of energy and harmony.

Student-Created Coffee Shop Opens on Campus
A medium cold brew with a splash of oat milk was the first order placed at Off the Avenue (O.T.A.) on Monday, February 20. Wrapping around the second floor of Spes Unica Hall, queuing to place their orders at the cafe overlooking the atrium, students, faculty, and staff had more enthusiasm than a typical Monday morning.
