Who can join The Bridge?
The community is focused on fostering a positive experience for alumnae and students. Some Saint Mary’s College faculty and professional staff are also invited to join The Bridge to offer support and participate.
How can I get the most out of The Bridge?
The Bridge offers exclusive resources and opportunities to connect with the Saint Mary’s community. Network with Belles for expert guidance and support through messaging and video chat. Join a group that connects community members based on shared interests and industries. Access lifelong learning pathways and search for job opportunities. It’s also important to keep your profile complete and up to date and regularly check your inbox for new messages.
Can I control who can connect with me and how often I am willing to be contacted through The Bridge?
Yes, you can choose who is able to view your profile, whether you wish to be contacted for networking and how many messages or meeting requests you would like to receive each month. We encourage users to adjust their preferences under “My Preferences” to curate the most positive experience on The Bridge for your needs.
How is The Bridge different from other Saint Mary’s professional development resources and tools?
Saint Mary’s online professional community is your central hub for rich and diverse alumnae and student connections. It is built on the premise of one-to-one relationships, which are curated to match your needs and interests based on the profile you fill out when registering. Recommended connections and message templates make your initial outreach seamless and comfortable.
I’m already established in my career. Why do I need The Bridge?
There are many reasons why you’d want to connect to classmates and other alumnae, not the least of which is sharing a deep connection with Saint Mary’s. The Bridge features an extensive directory where you can connect with alumnae in the working world based on your region, job, field, etc. The platform also features a formal mentorship program which pairs students with alums who can support them through their college years and potentially match them to internship and career opportunities.
I’m a stay-at-home mom. I don’t use LinkedIn, why would I use The Bridge?
Through an extensive alumnae directory, every alumna will be able to find and connect with fellow Belles regardless of their occupation, region, or class year. A calendar of events, up-to-date information on clubs and alumnae news—including Reunion—along with information about relevant affinity groups is also available.
Can I start a Group on The Bridge?
Yes! Tailored communities are a big part of the platform. Here students and alumnae can connect based on affinity, region, industry and more.
