Center for Spirituality Presents Lecture Series on Holy Year of Mercy
The Center for Spirituality (CFS) at Saint Mary’s College proudly announces the Spring 2016 Endowed Lecture Series titled A Holy Year of Mercy. The series is an exploration of Pope Francis’s proclamation for the season of mercy, which is a time of grace, peace, conversion, and joy. “I am convinced that the whole Church will be able to find in this Jubilee the joy of rediscovering and making fruitful the mercy of God, with which we are all called to give consolation to every man and every woman of our time.” ~Pope Francis

The Saint Mary’s College Department of Communication Studies, Dance and Theatre is proud to welcome award-winning actress, playwright, professor, and social commentator Anna Deavere Smith to campus for a second time as a Margaret M. Hill Endowed Visiting Artist. She was the first visiting artist in this series when it debuted 10 years ago. Smith will work with Saint Mary’s students in private master classes beginning on Friday, February 19 and end her visit with a public event, “An Evening with Anna Deveare Smith” on Monday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. in O’Laughlin Auditorium. Smith’s talk and one-woman performance is titled “From Rodney King to Michael Brown: The Narrative of Ferguson.” Ticket information is available below and at moreaucenter.com.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Acclaimed Author, to Speak Here
Saint Mary’s Office of the President, Campus and Community Events, the Office of Multicultural Services, and the Center for Women’s Intercultural Leadership (CWIL) are proud to welcome award-winning author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie to campus for a lecture about her life and writing. Saint Mary’s College, in collaboration with Lampkin Magic Productions, will welcome the critically acclaimed Dance Theater of Harlem to campus on Wednesday, February 17.
