About Speaker Miri Rubin
Miri Rubin is one of the world's leading historians of medieval Europe. Currently professor of early modern history at the University of London, she was formerly on the modern history faculty of Oxford University. Her books include: Charity and Community in Medieval Cambridge and Corpus Christi: The Eucharist in Late Medieval Culture. Her radio and television presentations have reached a wide audience, as has her most recent book, a volume in the Penguin History of Britain, The Hollow Crown: A History of Britain in the Late Middle Ages (2005). The 2006 Christian Culture Lecture draws from her current project, a cultural history of the Virgin Mary.
