Kathryn "Kelly" Mullaney Dean ’85
Kelly graduated with a humanistic studies degree and used her communication and analytical skills to develop successful sales.
Her Story
Kelly graduated in 1985 with a degree in humanistic studies. She moved to Florida for her first corporate experience before transitioning to Chicago with IBM/ROLM. Kelly’s career eventually led her to the financial world, first at Northern Trust and currently with BNY Mellon Family Office Group.
Her humanistic studies degree prepared her for this journey because she was able to process complex concepts and apply them in a way her clients could easily understand. Her strong analytical and communications skills were highly useful and effective, especially when working with sophisticated clients.
Her true passion lies in her work with PEAK – Partnership to Educate & Advance Kids and is also how she met her husband, Craig. PEAK offers FULL 4-year scholarships and mentors to academically AVERAGE students from Chicago’s toughest neighborhoods. All PEAK scholars attend Holy Trinity High School, a Bros. of the Holy Cross school. Kelly has been active with PEAK for over 20 years. As a sponsor, mentor and Governing Board member, she has helped “change life’s narrative for hundreds of PEAK Scholars”. She is always excited to share the success stories of these scholars and encourage others to get involved and make a huge impact one scholar at a time.
