Young Picks Up Second Consecutive MIAA Player of the Week Honor

FREELAND, Mich. - For the second consecutive week, Saint Mary's sophomore outfielder Cassie Young has been named the MIAA Position Player of the Week for games played through April 10.
Young, a sophomore from South Bend, earned position player honors after making the most of her four plate appearances against Adrian last week. She reached base three times with a walk and two hits including a two-run homer. Young batted in three runs and scored two of her own on the week. She also made a diving catch in the outfield on defense for her lone putout of the week. Young hit .667 for the week with an on-base percentage of .750 and slugging percentage of 1.667.
For Young, it is the second MIAA Position Player of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
