FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's freshman Sophie Bubnar was selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on September 24.
A native of Fenton, Michigan, Bubnar had three goals and an assist as the Belles went 1-1 last week. In a loss on the road at North Park, Bubnar registered both goals for Saint Mary's in her first multi-goal effort of her collegiate career. In a home win over Bluffton on Saturday, she scored the game-winning goal and collected an assist on the second Saint Mary's goal as the Belles won 2-0.
It is the first MIAA Offensive Player of the Week recognition of her career.
