Belles Shut Out by Comets

OLIVET, Mich. - The Saint Mary's soccer team suffered a 5-0 loss at Olivet on Friday afternoon.
The Comets put a goal on the scoreboard in the fourth minute of play, but the Belles continued to lock down on defense until late in the first half. Olivet tallied a goal in the 38th and 44th minutes for a 3-0 halftime lead. The host Comets registered two additional goals in the second period for the 5-0 final score.
The Belles had a pair of chances in second half of play as Saint Mary's worked to find the back of the net. Emily Rompola registered a shot in the 76th minute that went wide right. A few minutes later, Callie Doyle took a shot which also traveled wide right of the goal for the Belles.
Thallia Robles made 11 saves in goal on the night.
The Belles (1-11-0, 0-10-0 MIAA) host Kalamazoo on Wednesday, October 12 at 4:00 p.m.
