Christmas Retail Season Here Early, Economist Explains (ABC 57)
Does it feel like the Christmas season got revved up a little early this year? Thanksgiving is still two weeks away, but Santa arrives tonight at the local mall and some radio stations are already playing Christmas music. It's a very intentional strategy to get consumers to spend money in a still struggling economy. Richard Measell, assistant professor of economics, is interviewed.

Yacoub '15 and "The Voice" Offer Tribute to Sandy Hill Victims (NBC)
Sylvia Yacoub '15, who was a contestant on NBC's "The Voice" this fall, was back on the show on Tuesday. The program opened with the contestants and the show's hosts offering a moving tribute to those killed on December 14 at Sandy Hill Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut. The song is Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." Sylvia is on the left hand side holding the card for Benjamin Wheeler, age 6.
