In recent months, the College established relationships with new catering companies. Each of these companies are locally owned and operated. Alumna Makes History in Los Angeles Saint Mary’s College alumna Kristin Crowley ’93 is making history as she becomes the first woman to lead the Los Angeles Fire Department. On March 25, Crowley was sworn in as fire chief in a ceremony surrounded by fellow firefighters, family, and friends. Women in Music Symposium Returns to Campus Saint Mary’s College is hosting the third annual Women in Music Symposium on Saturday, March 19, 2022, after taking a two-year absence due to COVID-19. This all-day event allows participants to connect with alumnae and current students, and hear about the diverse career opportunities with a music degree. Announcing the Raise Your Voice Symposium Saint Mary’s recently announced the lineup of events for its inaugural symposium dedicated to combatting sexual violence. Raise Your Voice: A Sexual Violence Symposium spans one week, April 6 to 13, with a series of speakers, exhibitions, and discussions that are free and open to the tri-campus and broader communities. Upon Reflection In the long and ongoing period of our global pandemic, many of us have felt the weight of loneliness. Some people, including many older adults, have suffered being completely alone, while others—living in various familial configurations—have still felt removed from a larger sphere of social interaction.
