Saint Catherine Medal Awarded to Sarah Lipinski ’15 January 2, 2014 Saint Mary’s College President Carol Ann Mooney presented Sarah Lipinski ’15 of Canton, Mich. with the Saint Catherine Medal at Honors Convocation on Sunday, May 4. Each year Saint Mary’s College awards the medal to a sophomore or junior who demonstrates high standards of personal excellence and scholarship and contributes to the College community in the spirit of Christian leadership. The award commemorates Saint Catherine of Alexandria, the patron saint of scholars (especially women scholars). Kappa Gamma Pi, the National Catholic Honor Society, sponsors the award.

Indiana Private College Week, Monday, July 21, through Friday, July 25, offers high school students the opportunity to take a look at any of the state’s 31 private, non-profit colleges and universities, including Saint Mary’s College. Although visitors are welcome throughout the year, this concentrated week offers students an opportunity to visit multiple campuses in a short period of time. The week is sponsored by Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI).

Auditions for South Bend Chamber Singers January 2, 2014 The South Bend Chamber Singers (SBCS), the region’s premier vocal chamber ensemble, announces auditions for experienced singers from northern Indiana and southern Michigan for its 26th concert series, 2014-15. The New York Times bestselling author, internationally acclaimed scholar of religions, and professor of Creative Writing at the University of California, Riverside will offer his lecture, titled “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth,” on Tuesday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m. in O’Laughlin Auditorium.
