March 28, 2023 Meet Me at The Avenue Event Welcomes Class of 2027 On March 26, 273 high school seniors and their families gathered on campus for the annual Meet Me at The Avenue event hosted by the College. With more than 800 visitors, this makes this year’s “Meet Me” one of the largest attended in recent years. March 17, 2023 Summer Programs Empower Young Women As a legacy, Saint Mary's College was already on my mind while deciding which college to attend. Both of my sisters were already students, but they never visited campus before attending. My mother thought the Embody Theology Summer Institute would be the perfect opportunity for me to get to know Saint Mary’s, and help me with my college decision. She was right. Not only was I able to get a sneak peak of campus life, it made my transition to college much smoother. February 28, 2023 The Shortest Month Brings Moments of Awe In her February letter to the community, President Conboy explores two experiences she's witnessed in recent weeks at Saint Mary’s. The first is the awe that stems from the actions of other people, the “moral beauty.” The other is “collective effervescence” in which humans come together around a shared purpose and feel a sense of energy and harmony. February 27, 2023 Student-Created Coffee Shop Opens on Campus A medium cold brew with a splash of oat milk was the first order placed at Off the Avenue (O.T.A.) on Monday, February 20. Wrapping around the second floor of Spes Unica Hall, queuing to place their orders at the cafe overlooking the atrium, students, faculty, and staff had more enthusiasm than a typical Monday morning. February 27, 2023 Opera Scenes Teach Leadership and Vocal Technique From handbell choir to women’s choir, there’s a plethora of musical opportunities open to students at Saint Mary’s College. One unique opportunity presented to students is taking part in an opera workshop for course credit. Students learn vocal technique, and the campus community gets to enjoy the fruits of the student’s hard work at the Opera Scenes performance held in Dalloway’s Clubhouse on February 24 and 25. February 23, 2023 Elena Sarmiento ’23 Chosen as the 2023 Orr Fellow Saint Mary’s senior Elena Sarmiento has been selected for the prestigious Governor Bob Orr Indiana Entrepreneurial Fellowship. This two-year program gives recent graduates the experience of working with Indianapolis-based companies that are committed to mentorship and professional development.
