Saint Mary’s Welcomes Active, Socially Conscious, and Diverse Class ...
The Class of 2019 at Saint Mary’s College will arrive on campus on Thursday morning to cheers of “You’re home!” It’s a tradition for current Belles to be at the main entrance, waving welcome signs and cheering when vans, cars, and pickup trucks—packed to the gills—turn on to The Avenue. Once the new students and their families pull up to Regina Hall or McCandless Hall, the hospitality continues as the College Relations and Admission teams unload their vehicles on the sidewalk.

"Faith Always, Action Now Campaign" Concludes with $105 Million Raised...
Saint Mary’s College proudly announces the conclusion of Faith Always, Action Now, a comprehensive campaign, which raised a total of $105 million in gifts and pledges, nearly $25 million more than the initial goal. The campaign began in mid-2008 and concluded in December 2014. It is by far the largest fundraising campaign in Saint Mary’s 171-year history of educating women.

Nursing Students Offer Community Health Services (South Bend Tribune)
Nursing student Amanda Gilbert ‘15 devotes her Thursdays at the Center for the Homeless doing developmental assessments of children. She also spends afternoons at the Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran’s Center checking blood pressure and performing other evaluations as part of her Community Health nursing course. Also interviewed in this article is Ella Harmeyer, associate professor of nursing. This “Beyond the Campus” series story is written by Haleigh Ehmsen ’16, a media relations intern in the College’s marketing office.

Interviews for Annual SPARK Entrepreneurial Program, Monday, Aug. 31
The Saint Mary’s College Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) is proud to announce the annual session of the SPARK entrepreneurship training program. SPARK is intended to assist local under-resourced, high-potential female entrepreneurs and artists to “spark” or launch successful businesses. Candidates must apply in person at a mandatory 2-hour orientation and screening session at 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 31 in classroom 134 of Spes Unica Hall. Applicants must be there by 6 p.m. to be considered. Twenty-eight people will be selected for the program.

“Life Inspired: Dance Arts 2015,” April 16-18
The Saint Mary’s College Dance Ensemble Workshop is proud to present Life Inspired: Dance Arts 2015, Thursday, April 16 through Saturday, April 18 in O’Laughlin Auditorium. Dance Arts is an annual event that showcases new works by local artists performed by students. There will be four performances in total, with a 7:30 p.m. show each day and a matinee at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Professor Interviewed about 3 Graduate Offerings (WNDU-TV)
Today, Saint Mary's College announced three graduate programs to start this year. The programs include a Master of Data Science, a Master of Speech Pathology, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice. Math professor Steven Broad was interviewed on WNDU and explains the programs.

Spring Choral Concert Planned for April 30
The Saint Mary’s College Department of Music will soon present the Spring Choral Concert with performances by the Saint Mary’s Women’s Choir and Collegiate Choir as well as Bellacappella, a student a cappella ensemble. The concert will take place on Thursday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Little Theater of Moreau Center of the Arts.

Valedictorian for the Class of 2015 Announced
Saint Mary’s College is proud to announce Sarah Miller is the valedictorian for the Class of 2015. Miller is a music major and dance minor from Carmel, Indiana. “I was surprised to learn that I am the valedictorian, and feel so honored to represent women that I have learned so much from throughout my four years at Saint Mary’s College,” said Miller. In the process of auditioning for graduate schools, Miller plans to pursue a master’s degree in vocal performance.

Professor Ponders Opening of Cuba (South Bend Tribune)
The U.S. and Cuba ended more than 50 years of enmity on December 17, announcing that they would reestablish diplomatic relations and begin dismantling the last pillar of the Cold War. Marc Belanger, associate professor and chair of the Department of Political Science has studied this for years and offered perspectives to the South Bend Tribune.
