First-year Student Takes a Top Prize Sofia Dolan ‘26 entered Saint Mary’s College with a desire to fully immerse herself in the campus community. In late September, an invitation to participate in the McCloskey New Venture Competition from Stacie Jeffirs, director of the Career Crossing Office, piqued her interest. Her eagerness to be an engaged student on campus led her to submit an idea to the competition hosted by the Idea Center at the University of Notre Dame. Dolan’s answer to the call provided a transformational experience for her as a first-year student, and, on top of that, the EquiCorp Award for the Best Undergraduate Venture Students Perform 'Wholeheartedly' Sincerity and commitment are the words that are explored through movement in the Dance Ensemble Workshop spring concert, “Wholehearted Artists.” Each year, the Program in Dance stages a production featuring students of all majors and class years. Dancers audition for the concert, attending weekly rehearsals where they learn choreography from guest artists and faculty members. The 176th Commencement will take place at noon on Saturday, May 20 on Le Mans Green. Author Craig Ford Challenges Audience to Explore Religious Identity Saint Mary’s College recently hosted a symposium featuring Dr. Craig Ford, a distinguished author, and professor, as well as an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame. The symposium was an enriching experience for our students and community as he touched on the importance of staying religious through the oppression and injustices prominent in today’s world.
