1/14/11 Communication studies professor on tone of AZ memorial service, more (WSBT-AM)
Communication studies professor Michael Kramer, whose expertise is political communication, is interviewed on a number of communication-related issues associated with the shooting rampage in Tuscon, Arizona last weekend. One topic discussed was the tone of the memorial held at the University of Arizona. Critics say it had a pep rally feel to it. Kramer was also asked about whether heated political rhetoric can lead to shootings. Also discussed was whether the contentious mood in Congress between the parties might tone down amid all the talk that hostile political discourse needs to end.
