Lauren Zyber ’17 reflects on this year’s Women’s Choir tour over spring break. The group traveled from South Bend to Indianapolis, and as far as Colorado. Alumnae attended the concerts and hosted the women in their homes on the road trip tour. Read more about the tour.
Charmaine Torma ’99 shared five life lessons with 31 members of the Class of 2017 at the 10th annual Multi-ethnic Celebration. A winding path has led Torma to serve as a vice president at Holy Cross College to now owning her consulting firm. Read Charmaine's message to the Class of 2017 here.

Biology Professor Laura Kloepper took Morgan Kinniry ’18 to Amarillo, TX to study antipredator vocal and flight adaptations in Brazilian free-tailed bats. The duo also worked with a trained hawk to help capture data by flying through packs of bats while they emerge from caves. Strapped with imaging equipment could capture a unique angle that benefited their research.
Later in the summer Professor Kloepper took Makenzie Duncan ’18 to Auburn University to begin a project that investigates the bacterial species and abundance in bat guano.

Professors Aaron Moe and David Carroll worked on project to archive E.E. Cummings poetry for E.E. Cummings Society. Moe sees this research project as one way for Saint Mary’s to remain current and competitive, by engaging students with how literary studies has changed in light of the digital revolution.
