The South Bend Tribune is running a series on the popularity of tattoos. Among those interviewed is Terri L. Russ, assistant professor of communication studies, who teaches a course at the College called Female Beauty. She talks about how tattoos are a form of communication. Also interviewed is psychology major Ashley Goorhouse '12 who wrote her senior comprehensive on tattoos and women. Her research shows that throughout history women with tattoos are perceived more negatively than men with tattoos.
