Sister Macrina Wrobel, CSC
(- December 22, 2007)
Please, join in prayer of thanksgiving
for this Sister of the Holy Cross who
died on December 22, 2007.
Sister Macrina spent almost 60 years teaching middle-grade students in the elementary schools of the Midwest. She was by reputation an excellent teacher but one that was exacting of her students but she tempered this with a good sense of humor. This expectation for her students grew out of her demands on her own life--everything she did reflected her self-imposed goal as a perfectionist.
She was a woman of many talents and shared her artistry by making beautiful hand-painted cards which were treasured as gifts rather than simply as greetings.
Sister Macrina was a good community woman who had a reputation for “getting things done.” She could organize a project down to the last detail, making it easy for others to accomplish and follow her lead.
Loved by her students and the parishioners of each parish where she was assigned attests to her “people skills” and outgoing manner. It was only in later years, after she left active ministry, that she truly retired that bubbly spirit that endeared her to family and many friends.
Funeral arrangements for Sister Macrina are as follows: Reception of the body on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral Mass on the same day at 1:30 p.m. All of these ceremonies will take place in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto. May Sister Macrina rest in peace.
