The Rare Book Collections:

The Rare Book Collections of Saint Mary's College are located in room B26 in the lower level of the library. A 1941 anonymous donation of over 1,000 rare Dante publications added tremendously to an already fine collection which already existed at the College.

  • The Dante Collection: 1,300 books and pamphlets, including copies of The Divine Comedy dated 1477 and 1481, and a first edition of "Convivio"
  • Virginia Woolf: autographed first editions
  • Dali-Rizzoli Bible (illustrated in five volumes)
  • John Bannister Tabb poetry collection
  • Saint Nicholas Magazine: 1883 - 1898
