Belles Fire MIAA Course Record to Win Adrian Jamboree

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Saint Mary's golf team broke their own MIAA course record for Lenawee Country Club with a 324 to win the fourth conference jamboree of the fall on Saturday.
The Belles' previous course record was a 325 and came in the 2010 season. Saint Mary's finished 22 strokes ahead of second place Hope's 346 and 24 strokes ahead of host Adrian and Olivet (348). The stroke differential gives the Belles the conference lead over Hope heading into the final two rounds of conference play.
Summer Stillson was the round medalist with a three-over par 75 for the best round of her young career. She was one off the MIAA course record for an individual (74) and led the field in par three scoring while tying for the lead in par five scoring. She added two birdies and had a round-best 12 pars. Hunter Kehoe was two strokes behind with a 77 to finish second overall. The freshman led the round in par four scoring (-2), sunk two birdies, and added 11 pars.
Taylor Kehoe shot an 84 to finish seventh overall in the round. The junior was one-over in par five scoring and posted 10 pars. Lauren Read secured the win with an 88 while placing 16th. She was among the round leaders in both par four and par five scoring while tallying a birdie and eight pars.
Kelsey Conkright was the fifth Belle in the lineup and shot a 92 to finish tied for 21st. She was tied for the sixth-best par three scoring average in the round.
Libby Clark competed as an individual and shot a season-best 86 to finish in a tie for tenth place individually. She was among the round leaders in both par three and par four scoring and turned in seven pars.
The Belles go into the two-day MIAA End of Season Weekend Jamboree with a cumulative stroke total of 1,326. Hope is second (1,339) and Olivet is third (1,364). Day one of the final conference event of the season begins on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Bedford Valley Golf Club.
