Belles Kick Off Season at Comet Open
- The Belles started the season with a 5k race at the Comet Open in Michigan.

CHARLOTTE, Mich. - The Saint Mary's cross country team started the 2017 campaign at the non-scoring Comet Open in Michigan on Friday night.
Adele Edmonds led the team with 5k personal record time of 20:13 to finish fifth overall. Anna McClowry posted a 20:28 time while finishing ninth. Katie Glenn was the next Belle across the finish line with a 20:54 for 15th place.
Shanan Hamilton registered a 21:40 in her first collegiate race for 19th, and Maura Honan was just a few seconds behind with a 21:52 for 21st. KC McQuaid ran a 22:02 in her first race for the Belles to place 23rd. Emily Harrast rounded out the Saint Mary's efforts with a 22:32 to finish 27th.
The Belles are back on the competitive pathways on Saturday, September 9 when they take part in the Calvin Knight Invitational in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
