Saint Mary’s administered campus climate surveys in spring 2017 encouraging all students, faculty, staff and administrators to participate and provide their perspectives.
Designed by former director of Institutional Research Daniel Flowers and Associate Professor of Psychology Bettina Spencer, in conjunction with the President’s Council on Inclusivity and Multicultural Diversity (PCIMD), the questions and methodology draw in part from surveys administered in 2009 and 2012 to allow Saint Mary’s to best measure change in opinions and experiences over time.
The surveys focused on assessing the campus climate around inclusivity, diversity and student and employee satisfaction and were administered to all students and employees. A total of 302 responses were received across faculty, staff and administrators for a 57 percent response rate. A total of 592 students responded for a 37 percent response rate.
Data is essential to our work. The more we know about the Saint Mary’s community, the better we are able to tailor our programs to be most effective.
