Firearms, Other Weapons, and Explosives Policy

The possession, use, or distribution of any firearms, explosives, or other deadly or dangerous materials or weapons reasonably calculated to cause bodily injury is prohibited on the campus of Saint Mary’s College. Such items include, but are not limited to, guns, rifles, shotguns, pistols, BB guns, pellet guns, paintball guns, bows and arrows, Taser/stun guns, knives, fireworks, ammunition, and martial arts weapons.

Possession of such items in a locked vehicle is not allowed and is a violation of this policy. Concealed weapon permits do not exempt compliance with this policy. This policy applies to students, faculty, staff, administrators, contractors, guests, and visitors. Only employees authorized by the Director of Campus Safety may possess a weapon on campus (e.g. licensed law enforcement officers employed by Campus Safety).

Any violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination even for a first offense.
