Mary Callahan

In 1915, Mary, the Director of Athletics, presented Mother Pauline with an idea for an automobile mechanics course. Mother Pauline agreed and Mary was sent to Detroit for a crash course in mechanics. The automobile mechanics course at the College was noted in national press as the first of such course at any college for women. Mary and the College's chauffeur taught the class. She also gave driving lessons.
