Marketing Workshop Offered by Women's Entrepreneurship Initiative
The Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) at Saint Mary’s College will host a free marketing workshop for local women business owner/operators titled “The 6 Key Steps in Developing Your Marketing Strategy.” The event will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12 in Room 145 of Spes Unica Hall on the Saint Mary’s College campus.

College Receives $840,000 toward STEM Scholarships (South Bend Tribune...
Saint Mary’s College has been awarded $840,000 in grants to provide scholarships to students in the STEM fields — science, technology, engineering and mathematics. A total of $600,000 will come from the National Science Foundation and $240,000 from the Henry Luce Foundation.

Human Trafficking Victim/Victim’s Advocate to Lecture
Saint Mary’s College and the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross will welcome to campus Theresa Flores, a former victim of sex trafficking. Flores, who has been a licensed social worker for 20 years, will provide a general overview of both sex and labor trafficking, share her personal story, and offer suggestions for how students can implement an effective abolitionist movement on campus. The public lecture, this year’s Social Work Community Forum, will take place at noon on Friday, April 20.

Volleyball Supports Alumna in Cancer Battle (Fox 28)
While volleyball teams across the country hosted "Dig for the Cure" nights to raise funds for cancer awareness and research, the Saint Mary's volleyball team hosted "Crush for the Cure" to benefit South Bend native and Saint Mary's alumna Anne Blair Payne '02 and her fight against lymphoma. The Belles faced MIAA opponent Albion in Wednesday night's home game.

College Announces Co-Valedictorians for Class of 2012
Saint Mary's College is proud to announce Annie Bulger ’12, a mathematics major, and Krystal Holtcamp ’12, a biology major with a concentration in cellular/molecular biology, are the co-valedictorians for the Class of 2012. Both students earned perfect 4.0 grade point averages. It is not every year that two students are named valedictorians. In recent history, Saint Mary’s College honored co-valedictorians was in 2010 and 2007.

The "Beautiful You" App, launched this month by Saint Mary's College students, promotes positive body image and a favorable life outlook. Available on iTunes for $0.99, "Beautiful You" is a great app for women to have to keep New Year's resolutions.

Irish Dance Team Wins Competition in Ireland (Observer)
For the second time in club history, the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College Irish Dance Team danced its way to victory at the All-Ireland Dance Championship in Dublin as the team captured the championship trophy. Mary Morgan Mitchell '12 is interviewed.
