Catholicism and Liberal Arts and Sciences Subject of Center for Spirit... January 1, 2014 The Center for Spirituality (CFS) at Saint Mary’s College proudly announces the Fall 2014 Endowed Lecture Series titled Unitas, Veritas, Caritas: Catholicism and the Liberal Arts and Sciences. The series is an exploration of the relationship of faith and reason across the disciplines with particular attention to Catholicism's profession that God is love (1 John 4:16). The scholars speaking in this series have degrees in both theology and a second discipline and are uniquely qualified to lead this interdisciplinary exploration. The lectures are free and open to the public.

Alumna Brings Drake University Choirs to Campus (In the Bend) January 1, 2014 Aimee Beckmann-Collier '75 will bring the Drake choir and chamber choir to campus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 14 to sing at Church of Our Lady of Loretto. The College hosts the Drake visit every four years as part of Drake's choir tour of the Midwest. Beckmann-Collier received the Distinguished Alumna Award from the Saint Mary's Alumnae Association in 2010. Her choirs will sing with the Penn High School Women's Chorale and Mixed Choir. Students Celebrate 9th Year for Dance Marathon January 1, 2014 On Saturday, April 5, more than 400 students will participate in the 9th annual Saint Mary’s College Dance Marathon. The 12-hour no sitting, no sleeping event has raised more than half a million dollars for Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health since students started holding the event. The community is invited to attend Dance Marathon, which will feature music, games, crafts, and other entertainment.

January 1, 2014 Saint Mary’s College is proud to welcome bestselling author Rebecca Skloot and David “Sonny” Lacks to campus on two separate occasions this month. Skloot, author of the New York Times Bestseller “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” will speak on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. in O’Laughlin Auditorium.
