Three New Trustees Serve on the Saint Mary’s College Board of Truste... January 2, 2014 The Saint Mary’s College Board of Trustees, which next meets October 9 and 10, includes three new members. At its spring meeting, the board elected as a trustee Angela McDonald-Fisher ’91, legal counsel for Rolls-Royce North America Inc., and appointed as a student trustee Victoria Wilbraham ’15. A third new member to the Board of Trustees is Kelly Anne Walsh ’01, president of the Alumnae Association Board of Directors and an executive with CNA Insurance.

Religious Studies Professor Honored with Maria Pieta Award January 2, 2014 Saint Mary’s College Dean of Faculty Vickie Hess presented Phyllis Kaminski, professor of religious studies, with the Maria Pieta Award at Honors Convocation on Sunday, May 4. The recipient of the award is kept secret until the Commencement-related event. Kaminski was not only surprised by the honor, but also by her relatives who came from all over the country to celebrate with her.

PADs Project Makes National News (Fox News Channel) January 2, 2014 In a technology news segment called "Check it out," Fox News Reporter Douglas Kennedy showcases the collaborative Saint Mary's College/University of Notre Dame paper analytical devices (PAD) project. A PAD is the size of a business card and can be used to quickly detect if a pharmaceutical is the real thing or not. The technology is patent pending and the work of Saint Mary's chemistry professor Toni Barstis, Notre Dame chemistry professor Marya Lieberman, and their students. Dynamic Class of 2018 Moves in Thurs., 8/21 January 2, 2014 Thursday, August 21, is Move In Day at Saint Mary’s College. The Class of 2018 at Saint Mary’s College boasts 381 young women. The class is diverse, with 18 percent from historically underrepresented groups. The class represents 30 states and four countries, including China, Colombia, Chile and Ukraine. Two students have dual citizenships (U.S. and France or El Salvador).
