Interested in working with the Sisters of the Holy Cross following Graduation?
The new Ghana Post-Graduate Program started in summer 2009 as a pilot program. Two Saint Mary's graduates (Katie Yohe and Megan Ryan) traveled to Ghana, West Africa to live with the Sisters for a full year and teach in the local school run by the Sisters' community. The year was challenging, life-changing, joyful, and transformative. Because it worked out so well, the Sisters and the College have committed to this program for the foreseeable future. Currently, two more Saint Mary's graduates are in Ghana with the Sisters (Becky Eckstein and Lauren Theiss). Their term of service will run through summer 2011.
Recruitment for the post-graduate program begins the the fall semester and carries through the spring. There is an application process that includes essays and faculty/staff recommendations. The successful applicant will also be required to obtain a Visa as well as vaccinations.
