On Sunday, May 5, 22 senior student-athletes took the stage to receive their graduation stoles at the Senior Athlete Awards Reception. The ceremony began with an introduction and invocation from Director of Athletics Julie Schroeder-Biek ’88, followed by a welcome from President Katie Conboy. During the awards reception, special comments about their GPAs, all academic awards, and majors were celebrated. Each sport concluded with their teammates cheering on the seniors. The head coach of each sport also presents a senior keepsake to each of their graduating athletes. They highlight each senior’s accomplishments in addition to their commitment to the athletic program. This recap of every season brings back memories of the seniors that they cherished over the years.
The coaches conclude by giving student-athletes a stole along with a green-and-white cord to those who served on the Student-Athlete Athletic Committee (SAAC). Special awards were given to seniors and others who stood out for their contributions to their sport. At the conclusion of the Senior Athlete Awards Reception, Julie Schroeder-Biek ‘88 provided closing remarks about the amazing 22 student-athletes and wished them farewell in their future. Lori E. Johnson '91, Vice President for Student Enrollment and Engagement, gave the final Benediction to the Class of 2024.

Competitive Spirit Award — Haley Greene ’24
Presented to the senior athlete who demonstrates passion and love for the sport by work ethic, desire to succeed, and commitment to teammates.
Improvement Award — Haley Angel ’24
Presented in recognition of significant improvement as a student-athlete over a four-year period of time.
Impact Award — Holly Skrip ’24
Presented to the senior athlete who elevates the intensity and focus of a game beyond what statistics can measure.
Composure Award — McKenna Shoupe ’24
Presented to the senior athlete who shows unparalleled poise and self-control in the face of pressure and competition.
Mary Ellen Smith Academic and Athletic Achievement Award — Elle Deardorff ’24
Presented for outstanding academic and athletic achievement and future promise as a Saint Mary’s graduate.
Marvin Wood Outstanding Senior Athlete Award — Amanda Tracy ’24
Presented to the outstanding senior athlete.
Varsity Club Appreciation Award — Lori E. Johnson ’91
Presented to students, faculty, staff, or friends of Saint Mary’s for extraordinary contribution to the Saint Mary’s Department of Athletics.
