About Her Lecture
Saint Mary’s is delighted to announce the internationally renowned, award-winning philosopher Martha C. Nussbaum as the Christian Culture Lecturer for 2015. The Christian Culture Lecture invites prominent public intellectuals to examine the influence of Christianity on Western culture. Professor Nussbaum’s talk, “Anger and Revolutionary Justice,” will offer a close philosophical analysis of anger, and why it is of dubious value in life and the law, and then use that analysis to reflect on the role of non-anger in the work of Mohandas Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Nelson Mandela. A formal book-signing will follow.
