Sister M Georgina Wilson, CSC
(- March 22, 2008)
Please, join in prayer of thanksgiving for this Sister of the Holy Cross who died on March 22, 2008.
No matter what Sister Georgina did she was all business and this refers to her style of life rather than the academic courses she taught. There was nothing half-hearted about whatever she did whether in her spiritual life, her community life or her ministry life; she always put forth a hundred percent effort.
Anyone who really knew Sister Georgina quickly learned to appreciate the pure gift she was as a friend. She never spared herself and generously offered to help whenever her talents were needed. Many a local archivist with halting computer skills was rescued by sister’s immediate and swift completion of house narratives that were close to deadline.
Her efforts to achieve excellence were a vital part of her teaching strategies and the girls in her business classes received training that made them prize candidates for jobs in any office setting. She was loved by her students for her warm friendship and her ability to inspire them to excel. She modeled this in her life and in her interactions with them. It is easy to understand why so many of her students held her in such high esteem.
“Still waters run deep,” best describes Sister Georgina because of her depth of character and lack of personal adulation. She now is enjoying the reward of her many years of dedicated religious living. May she rest in peace.
Funeral arrangements for Sister Georgina are as follows: Reception of the body at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, with the funeral Mass on the same day at 1:30 p.m. concluding with the eulogy. All of these ceremonies will take place in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto.
