( - November 4, 2008)

Please, join in prayer of thanksgiving for this Sister of the Holy Cross who died on November 4, 2008.

Though Sister Margaret Mary had been successful in her numerous ministry experiences in her community life, she cherished most her 10 years in the field of counseling.  Her motherly approach in dealing with young people on the high school and university level made her ministry very effective and rewarding.  She was so proud of all the students who received scholarships and awards under her tutelage.  She always rejoiced in their success.

The six years she was assistant director and then director of financial aid at the University of Portland were very fruitful and rewarding.  She wrote that she thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working with the Holy Cross brothers and priests during these happy years.

She loved to travel and her two years as counselor to the students in the Rome program gave her the opportunity to tour with the students and to take side trips on her own as well.  When she won a tour to nine European countries she was in her glory.

The last few years Sister Margaret Mary has been plagued with one health crisis after another, but she continued to fight through each one with the support and help of her sisters in community.  Her fight is now over; may she rejoice in peace.

Funeral arrangements for Sister Margaret Mary are  as follows: Reception of the body and wake at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008, with the Mass of Resurrection on Friday, November 7, 2008, at 10:30 a.m.  All of these ceremonies will take place in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto.
