SMC to ND Master of Science in Accountancy 4+1

Saint Mary’s College and the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business have partnered to offer accelerated bachelor’s to master’s programs. For Saint Mary’s students who meet the criteria for entry, Notre Dame offers guaranteed advanced admission to a Master of Science in Accountancy, completed with one additional year of coursework or less.

High School Students

Direct Admission Option for First-Year Students

Students interested in direct entry to the accelerated accounting program with the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame (3.5+1) must meet the following criteria:

  • Apply to Saint Mary's by January 15 (students who apply after this date will be considered on a space available basis).

  • list accounting as one of their three major interests on the application 

  • a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 or higher

Current Saint Mary’s students:

Saint Mary’s undergraduate students can complete an accelerated accounting track in 3.5 academic years, in order to pursue a 4.5-year pathway to complete both a bachelor of business administration with the major or concentration in Accounting from the College, and a Master of Science in Accountancy from Notre Dame. 

Students from Saint Mary’s will be accepted into ND’s Master of Science in Accountancy during the early application period (typically September) for an anticipated January start date during the same academic year. 

To be considered, students satisfy all of the following criteria:

  • complete bachelor of business administration with the accounting major or the accounting concentration at the College in December immediately prior to the intended January matriculation at ND

  • Achieve an overall minimum GPA of 3.2

  • Achieve an overall minimum GPA of 3.5 in coursework for the College’s accounting major or concentration

  • Pay the deposit for admitted students to Notre Dame 30 days after formal notification of admission
