FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's sophomore Giavanna Paradiso was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance leading up to December 17.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, she posted a game-high 24 points in a come-from-behind conference win at Alma on Saturday for the Belles. She scored 15 of those 24 points in the second half alone and went 6-of-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter. Paradiso tacked on eight rebounds and a team-high three assists to go with a blocked shot in the team's MIAA victory.
It is the first MIAA Player of the Week honor of her career.
