FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's junior golfer Lauren Read was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office on October 8.
A native of Bremen, Indiana, she posted the lowest score of the round on day one of the MIAA Fall Finale with a two-over par 74 last Friday to claim round medalist honors. She had a round-best 15 pars while also sinking a birdie on the par four hole No. 1.
It is the first MIAA Golfer of the Week honor for her this season and the second of her career.
