NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Saint Mary's volleyball team earned a 3-1 ( 25-10, 25-16, 21-25, 25-21) win over Indiana - Northwest before taking a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-21) decision over Wilmington on day one of the Manchester University Invitational on Friday night.
Alyssa Chong led the Belles against IU-Northwest with 16 kills while Lindsey Pelletier put down 10 kills. Nicole Lukens picked up 31 digs, and Audrey Shannon registered 22 digs. Morgan VanderWey posted 39 assists.
In the second match of the night, Pelletier led all players with 11 kills while posting a .474 attack percentage. VanderWey hit .636 with seven kills on 11 attempts while tallying 33 assists. Lukens added 17 digs and six service aces, and Shannon picked up 11 digs. As a team, the Belles hit .304 with 45 kills and 14 errors on 102 attempts.
The Belles (4-4) take on Governors State and host Manchester on day two of the tournament at 1:00 p.m and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
