GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saint Mary's volleyball team lost a 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-8) match to No. 1 ranked Calvin and fell 3-1 (25-18, 27-29, 25-19, 25-17) against Alma on Saturday at the MIAA Preview Tournament.
Against the top-ranked Knights, Lindsey Pelletier, Nola Wallace, and Nicole Lukens each registered four kills for the Belles. Pelletier added two blocks, and Wallce helped put down a block as well. Morgan VanderWey added 12 assists and a team-high seven digs.
Lukens had team-highs of 15 kills and 16 digs against Alma in the final match of the weekend. Laura Keating posted career-highs of 10 kills and 11 digs for her first double-double for the Belles. Morgan VanderWey was close to a triple-double with 39 assists, 10 kills, and seven digs. Audrey Shannon tallied 11 digs and six assists against the Scots.
The Belles (1-4) return to action on Tuesday, September 11 when they travel to Kalamazoo for a non-conference match against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m.
