In support of our nation’s veterans, Saint Mary's is proud to be a sponsor of the Yellow Ribbon Program. This program provides additional assistance to cover tuition and fees not already covered by the Post–9/11 GI Bill. Some veterans may qualify to transfer their eligibility to their children.
Eligibility for the Yellow Ribbon Program
You might be eligible if you meet one of the following:
- You are eligible for the maximum benefit rate of the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
- You are a dependent of a veteran eligible for Transfer of Entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill and that veteran is eligible for the maximum benefit rate.
Yellow Ribbon Program Details
- Since 2010, Saint Mary's College has provided Yellow Ribbon Program funding to all eligible undergraduate students.
- The maximum Yellow Ribbon Funding from Saint Mary's College will be up to 50% of the tuition and fees not covered by the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
- The Yellow Ribbon Program only provides funding for tuition and mandatory fees. It does not cover books, housing, etc., although students receiving Chapter 33 will receive a monthly housing allowance from the VA.
Below is an example of the amount of aid a student would receive in the 2022-23 year if she enrolls full-time in both the fall and the spring:

Applying for the Yellow Ribbon Program
- If you’re a veteran or a dependent start an application through the Veterans Administration’s (VA) web site
- The VA will send a Certificate of Eligibility to each applicant.
- Students must complete a Saint Mary's Yellow Ribbon Application.
- Students must bring the Certificate of Eligibility and the completed Saint Mary's Yellow Ribbon Application to the Registrar's Office at Saint Mary's College.
