FREELAND, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary’s forward Ariana Paul its Player of the Week in women’s basketball for games played through November 30.
Paul, a senior from Valparaiso, Ind. (Valparaiso HS), earned Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week as she poured in 32 points, grabbed seven rebounds and added four steals in leading the Belles to a 68-57 non-conference win over Anderson, Ind. She made 14 of 21 shots (67 percent) from the field and 4 of 6 from the line (67 percent).
It’s the fourth time Paul has been named Player of the Week in her career.
Paul's second player of the week honor in-a-row marks the first time with back-to-back Saint Mary's honorees since the 2011-12 season (Kelley Murphy and Patsy Mahoney) and first time the same Saint Mary's player has been MIAA Player of the Week since Maggie Ronan was Co-Player of the Week in consecutive weeks in the 2010-11 season.
